2026 Studio Tour Call for Artists
Submission deadline is July 15, 2026.

We
are looking for artists in Montezuma County, Colorado, to participate in the 2nd Annual Four Corners Studio Tour to be held during the weekends of September 19 & 20 and 26 & 27, with an artists reception on Friday evening - September 18 and the open studio tour during the daytime on Saturday and Sunday of each weekend.

The Four Corners Studio Tour is open to artists who reside in and have a studio or workshop located within Montezuma County, Colorado, where they can show their work and talk with visitors during the studio tour hours.

There will also be a group location in Cortez for those artists who do not have their own studio or workshop where they can safely welcome visitors. Space is limited. First come, first served.

Participation fees are as follows:
$50 Entry Fee Per Artist (with only one artist at the studio location)
$35 Entry Fee Per Artist (with 2 artists sharing one studio location)
$25 Entry Fee Per Artist (with 3 or more artists sharing a studio or group location).

Important Note:
Artists may choose to participate in both weekends, or just the first or the 2nd weekend. The participation fee is the same whether an artist chooses both weekends or just one of them.

If you are a Montezuma County artist interested in participating in the studio tour, please read the General Requirements, below. Then click the "Studio Tour Application" button to complete the online form.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR PARTICIPATION

  • Participating artists must reside in and have their studio located within the boundaries of
    Montezuma County, Colorado.

  • Artists must complete the Studio Tour Application and pay the application fee to be
included in the Four Corners Studio Tour.
Application and payment deadline for the 2026 Studio Tour is July 15, 2026.

  • Artists agree to be at their studio / workshop / other exhibition space during both days
and all hours of the open studio tour for each weekend that they signed up for on their
application. Artists should plan to attend the opening reception on Friday evening,
    September 18th, if possible.

  • Artists agree to provide the required information for their listing on the studio tour website and printed materials, including: an artist statement / bio and photographs of their work and to release the use of them to Four Corners Studio Tour as a permanent record of the
exhibition and for promotional use relating to the studio tour.
Artist's media files must be submitted by July 31, 2026.
Note: we will provide instructions for submitting this content once you've registered and paid the participation fee.

  • Artists agree to place one sample piece of their artwork in a special exhibit at the Gallery
at the CCC that will run from September 18 through September 27, 2026. The sample
pieces will not be for sale in the gallery. Interested buyers will be referred to the artists to
    buy directly from them.

  • Each registered participant will be given one listing on the studio tour website and printed map.

  • Artist's studio properties should be clean, welcoming and orderly. Please make sure the
roads to your studio are accessible with no parking restrictions and your neighbors are
willing to cooperate with a (potentially) large number of visitors. We encourage the artist
to research liability insurance on your homeowner's policy for the event.

  • Retail storefronts and galleries that are normally open to the public are not eligible to participate, unless an artist has their primary studio at such a location. This is a studio tour event, not a gallery walk. The purpose of the studio tour is to allow art enthisiasts to visit with artists in their natural creative environment, not to see artwork in a gallery or retail shop that they can see on any other day of the year.

  • The Cortez Cultural Center, the Four Corners Studio Tour, their representatives and their
partners are not responsible for any theft, personal injuries or property damage sustained
by third parties (including those of guests and invitees) at the artists' studios, workshops
    and exhibition spaces.

  • Artists must complete an after-tour evaluation survey. Note: we will provide a link to the online form for this purpose after the event is over.
