Jan Wright is a watercolor artist from
Mancos, Colorado, who creates intensely vibrant paintings, often with
hidden images that express a deeper dimension to her landscapes. Her
watercolor technique often involves layering and detail work varying
from the splashy, suggestive watercolors of most artists of that medium.
Jan most recently exhibited oversized
watercolors of Mancos Valley Magic
at Fenceline Cidery in Mancos. In
June, 2023, she had a retrospective exhibit at Cortez Cultural Center,
exhibited at Mesa Verde’s Far View Lodge for six years, at The Farm
Bistro, libraries and health centers of Mancos and Cortez, St. Barnabas
Church of Cortez, and the Mancos Visitors Center.
She currently is a member of Raven House
Gallery in Mancos, having been in Artisans of Mancos for over 16 years.
Jan teaches watercolor classes through Mancos School of the West as well
as privately.
